Individualized Care
Because no two patients are identical, every patient we treat receives a completely unique and personalized course of therapy.
We also make sure you are properly educated and informed about your progress, know how to listen to what your body is telling you, and understand the concrete steps you can take—in and out of the clinic—to improve your quality of life.
To achieve maximum results, your SSPT therapist will follow a flexible process to create a truly personalized therapy regimen. Because we believe that patient involvement can mean the difference between success and failure, we ensure that you remain actively involved in every stage of this process.
- Assess. Your therapist will assess your current or potential impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or other health-related conditions and identify the true cause of your discomfort, pain, or dysfunction.
- Diagnose. Your initial evaluation will include a thorough examination of muscle, nerve, tendon, ligament, bone, and other body tissues and organs as they pertain to the diagnosis provided by your doctor.
- Plan. Your therapist will develop a treatment program that will usually involve some form of manual therapy and exercise, as well as other therapeutic modalities to treat your problem areas.
- Implement. Your therapist will personally lead you through your prescribed physical therapy plan and monitor your progress every step of the way.
- Re-evaluate. With each visit to our clinic, your injuries will be re-evaluated to assess the progress of your treatment. Based on the reassessment, your therapist may adjust your course of therapy.
- Educate. Your therapy regimen will include instruction in a home exercise program as well as education on proper body mechanics and posture to prevent re-injury. Your personalized exercise program may be included on a DVD to guide you when completing your exercises at home.
