
Having practiced as a physical therapist in Greece, Australia, and the US, Maria brings a unique global perspective to SSPT. During her years of experience, she has had the opportunity to work with all different age groups and a breadth of conditions, ranging from acute sports injuries and overuse syndromes to chronic neuromusculoskeletal disorders and postoperative rehabilitation.
Maria has extensive experience in rehabilitating neurological and musculoskeletal conditions and is well equipped to work with any orthopedic condition. Her approach to physical therapy care emphasizes functional assessments, treatment focused on restoring range of motion, muscle strength and balance, coordination, and teaching efficient movement patterns to help patients regain lost function. Her areas of expertise include acute and chronic spinal pain, geriatric care, and peripheral muscle joint pain.
Maria received her Physical Therapy degree from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Greece. She completed training in Manual Therapy (Kaltenborn-Evjenth concept) with the European Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and received a Master's degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia.
