Dynamic Pilates

What is Dynamic Pilates?

Dynamic Pilates is individualized exercise instruction that focuses on enhancing your dynamic core stability. It teaches you how to exercise by starting at your core and helps you correct faulty movement patterns. Your Dynamic Pilates instructor applies recent advancements in evidence-based medicine to the traditional Pilates method to produce optimal results in fitness, rehabilitation, and injury prevention.

How is Dynamic Pilates different from a traditional Pilates program?

As with traditional Pilates programs, Dynamic Pilates employs the principles of Pilates—whole body movement, breathing, balanced muscle development, concentration, control, centering, precision, rhythm, and flowing movement. However, this unique form of exercise is taught by a physical therapist who is an experienced, classically trained Pilates Instructor. In addition, Dynamic Pilates:

  • Possesses a scientific foundation: Dynamic Pilates draws on the science of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and motor control and integrates scientific research findings in areas such as orthopedics, sports medicine, and movement science.
  • Employs clinical models: Dynamic Pilates is taught in the framework of clinical models—always keeping pathology, impairments, functional limitations, and disability in mind.
