Wrist Fracture

Wrist fractures can be the result of a variety of accidents, but they most often involve a fall onto an outstretched hand. Medical treatment may include cast immobilization or surgical fixation. Regardless of the medical treatment, therapy is often indicated and can be extremely beneficial.

SSPT's approach to treating wrist fractures

SSPT's approach to wrist fracture rehabilitation focuses on regaining range of motion, strength, and functional use of the injured hand and arm. We work closely with your referring physician to provide the best treatment available. Your treatment may include:

  • Custom splint fabrication to support the injured wrist
  • Therapeutic exercise to gradually regain function and strength
  • Joint and soft tissue mobilization to normalize the range of motion
  • Therapeutic modalities to reduce inflammation and manage pain
  • Education on appropriate exercise and activity modification
