Educational Seminars

We know firsthand that many injuries can be avoided through education. Aware that full and functional movement is at the heart of what it means to be healthy, we regularly conduct educational seminars to promote concepts for healthier living to the greater community. Our seminars have targeted instrumental musicians, youth and adult sports teams, senior citizens, dance companies, schools, and area businesses. Each of our seminars is tailored to the specific needs of the group being addressed and concentrates on potential risk factors, self-management strategies, and injury prevention techniques.

Seminars that our therapists have conducted include:

  • Injury prevention for lacrosse and youth baseball players
  • Injury prevention for instrumental musicians
  • Postural and ergonomic recommendations
  • Pre- and post-natal lower back pain relief
  • Rotator cuff injuries and treatment
  • Fall risk factors and prevention
  • Osteoarthritis research and treatment

“I would like to thank Sports and Spinal Physical Therapy for a most informative and enlightening presentation on youth baseball injury prevention. The audience of parents and coaches was entirely engrossed and focused-an unusual occurrence in this age of competing interests and vibrating cell phones. Tim's keen knowledge of baseball along with the interjection of baseball humor made for a very worthwhile and enjoyable evening.”

-- Denise Gorham, Executive Director BCC Baseball, Inc.
